Grand Prix Championship Round One - The Results....

The first round of the Championship sprang into life at the weekend.  With a couple of late arrivals filling up the numbers, round one got underway in earnest.

The excitment and tension was evident as early as the safety briefing with everyone anxious to get started.

As the heats progressed the comptetiveness started to increase and the lead swapped as each of the heats was completed.  The lap times, which started off a modest rate, started to get steadily faster and most drivers achieved a lap time in the mid 52 seconds, however two drivers achieved sub-52 seconds which were:

Alex Seddon - 51.90, but the fastest lap went to: Adrian Galubickas with 51.66 who took the additional five points on offer.

As each driver came to the end of their four heats the competitiveness continued to increase as each strived to achieve the highest position and those all important points.  The competitiveness, which sometimes verged on the aggressive, was always good natured and there were no black flags issued (which means no-one had any points deducted !!).

All drivers left looking forward to round two in February with a firm commitment to try that bit harder next time round !!
