We use a ‘Pace Car’ system for the single seater lapping sessions, where you will follow one of our instructors. This helps you to learn the racing line and this actually helps you to lap faster and more smoothly than you ordinarily would.

Intensive Race Training and Personal Instruction
Aintree Racing Drivers School is one of Europes longest established racing schools established in 1978, and has been giving expert tuition at Three Sisters Race Circuit since 1993. The School specialises in offering race training. All instructors who carry out these programmes are experienced racing drivers. Each course is tailored to suit individual requirements and is suitable for all drivers whether they are a complete novices looking to enter motorsport, experienced racers looking to improve their technique or drivers who simply want more high speed driving experience.


 

Formula 3 Race Training Programme
The Formula 3 race training programme consists of stages 1 to 3 followed by 20 laps in a Formula Ford, then 2 x 10 lap sessions driving our Ralt RT30/RT32 Formula 3 cars.

MSA Competition Licence Course
Aintree Racing Drivers’ School is approved by the Motor Sports Association to operate these courses to obtain your competition licence.

Personal Tuition
Bespoke personal tuition is available upon request to suit your individual needs.

Intensive Race Training Programme with optional data logging
The intensive race training programme throughout which you will have your own instructor consists of the following:-

A classroom safety briefing
On-circuit familiarisation laps in our sports saloon with an instructor demonstrating lines, techniques etc.
10 laps driving the sports saloon to learn the racing lines
50 laps driving a Formula Ford single seater racing car. These laps are split into 10 lap sessions, each lap being timed, assessed and data logged if requested. Laps 1 to 20 are run at a 5000rpm limit and for total novices the first 10 laps can be run behind a pace car if required. For the remaining laps the rev limit is increased to full race revs as your performance level improves.
Full and comprehensive debriefing
session during and on completion of the programme, where your instructor will analyse your driving. Optional data logging is available which will compare your performance to that of one of our
instructors, in addition to this, comparisons lap by lap, or session by session will be made.
If the optional data logging is chosen
copies of the data logging software and data disc, together with an instruction manual will be made available to you. Throughout the programme, you will have to access to drive as many additional laps in our sports saloon as your instructor feels necessary to improve your performance.

Formula Ford scholarship


Three Sisters Race Circuit recognise the
financial stumbling block that prevents most people from starting motor racing. It is a relatively expensive sport and many potential champions will never even get to sit in a racing car.

In order to give you an opportunity to show your potential and provide you with a stepping stone to pursue a career in motor racing we run a successful annual Racing Drivers’ Scholarship.

The Scholarship winner will win a fully sponsored drive in the Zetec Formula Ford Winter Championship, with all necessary testing and support from our championship winning professionally run racing team.
Following assessments through the qualifying round and if successful the semi final stage, a final twelve drivers will be selected on ability and aptitude and invited back for the Grand final.

Eligibility
The Scholarship is open to anyone regardless of age who holds a full road driving licence, holders of MSA class ‘A’ licences cannot apply.

Qualifying Round includes:

Demonstration laps of the circuit in a race prepared saloon car
Safety Briefing

5 lap one to one instruction session in saloon car

10 laps formula ford session under pace car (practice session)
2 Further 7 lap formula ford sessions (timed, assessed and marked)

Semi Final includes:

Practice laps in a formula ford single seater
2 x 7 lap formula ford sessions at an increased rev limit

5 lap one to one instruction session in saloon car

10 laps formula ford session under pace car (practice session)
2 Further 7 lap formula ford sessions (timed, assessed and marked)

The Grand Final (free of charge)
The 12 finalists will undergo further tuition and timed test sessions in a formula ford single seater.

The panel of judges will then analyse each contestants lap times and tuition marks and assess their overall suitability to receive the accolade of a fully sponsored drive in the Zetec Winter Championship.
All 12 finalists will also be given lapping sessions in a Formula 3 Race car and our awesome Formula 1 car during the 2 days final.

Finally, a presentation to the Scholarship winner takes place. In addition, the winner will also be put through the MSA novice licence course.
