Teamwork see’s the creation of a new track layout at Three Sisters.
4/1/05

The UK’s two leading Supermoto racing organisations, Motard Masters and NORA, have joined forces with Three Sisters Race Circuit to create new off road sections in ‘The Valley’ in order to reduce external noise pollution.

‘We currently run well within very strict noise restrictions, but local residents still complain whenever motorcycles run on the highest part of the circuit.’ Explains Ian Makinson, Three Sisters Operations Manager. ‘Whilst the nature of our business is noisy, we want to be good neighbours, we therefore sat down with Motard Masters and NORA to create a new section with the aim of taking motorcylcles off the higher section, whilst still retaining a challenging and spectator happy track layout.’

The work was completed just before Christmas and we ran our first test day on the 12th January. The first acid test was would the riders like the new layout.

"I love the new tack layout, it's made the circuit both more interesting and demanding, but at the same time safer. It's a great result." said Ady Smith, former British Champion in both Supermoto and Enduro.

‘Thankfully, on this and subsequent occasions, the local Evironmental Health Department received no noise complaints when this circuit configuration has been used.’ Advises Ian. ‘We’re delighted with the outcome and look forward to running several race meetings on this exciting new layout.’
