On arrival for the Group Grand Prix Heats Karting race all drivers are kitted out with racing overalls, a helmet and gloves. Then it’s off for a full safety briefing before taking to the track for a practice session where they can familiarise themselves with the many challenging twists and turns of the Three Sisters circuit. It’s then time to get competitive with the qualifying heats. Drivers are positioned on the grid Formula 1 style, with grid positions varying each race to ensure no driver gains an unfair advantage.
After the heats are complete, all lap times are calculated and drivers are allocated a place in the grand final. Then it’s time to see who can drive the fastest and smartest and take the chequered flag. The top 3 drivers from the overall event receive an award to acknowledge their skill and speed.
